Dear Editors, We are pleased to submit our manuscript titled "Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things: A Neuro-Symbolic Approach for Automated Platform Configuration" for consideration in the Special Issue on Neuro-Symbolic AI and Domain-Specific Conceptual Modeling. Our research is aligned with the objectives of this Special Issue, particularly in its focus on bridging the gap between neural AI, symbolic reasoning, and Domain-Specific Conceptual Modeling (DSCM) to enhance the creation and management of Intelligent Information Systems (IIS). These systems require sophisticated integration of domain expertise and technical know-how, which can be achieved by aligning neuro-symbolic AI techniques and DSCM. The core contribution of our work is the development of the Instantiator Pipeline, which automates the configuration of IoT platforms through a neuro-symbolic AI system. The inclusion of the IoT2Model method further extends our system, enabling scenario-specific rule creation and offering deeper insights into IoT environments. We believe that our research contributes valuable insights into the integration of neuro-symbolic AI with DSCM, offering a practical solution that enhances both technical efficiency and stakeholder collaboration in IIS engineering. We are confident that our manuscript will resonate with the journal’s readership, particularly those interested in advancing the interplay between AI technologies and conceptual modeling. We appreciate your consideration of our submission and look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence journal. Sincerely, Alexander Völz
