RESUBMIT of #984-2016 Dear Guest Editors of the X-NeSy Special Issue, We submit the revised version of our manuscript to the Special Issue on Explainable Neurosymbolic AI (X-NeSy). The revised manuscript is titled "Operability: On the Conditions for Epistemic Appropriation in LLMs"; the previous version was titled "Operability as Structural Grounding: Conditions for Epistemic Appropriation in LLMs". We thank the editors and both reviewers for their detailed and constructive reviews. Their comments led us to reframe the theoretical claims of the paper and to add pre-registered experiments that address the comparisons they requested.
