Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence has grown significantly since its launch, thanks to the support of authors, reviewers, and board members.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, open-access publishing and open and transparent refereeing, the current introductory waiver of the Article Processing Charge (APC) will end, and there will be an APC of USD 1,600 per accepted paper submitted January 1, 2025 or later, to support publication costs. Also, from this date onwards the journal will offer extensive options to fund the APC as its publisher, IOS Press, will be able to offer funding options through its parent company Sage Publishing. Since launching Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence we have waived all APCs, enabling authors to publish free of charge. However, as we continue to expand, we must introduce these charges to cover essential costs such as editorial services, manuscript processing, professional copyediting, technical infrastructure, and maintaining the high standards of peer review. This fee will ensure we can maintain a sustainable and scalable publishing model while continuing to offer unrestricted access to published research, free from paywalls.
